Old Friends and Picnics

You know those people that you’ve just known forever, that you can always message and they’ll be up for doing stuff, and they just know so much about you that it’s easy?

Internet, meet Bryce and Claire!

Bryce, Claire and I have been friends since preschool. So that would make it nearly 16 years we have known each other. And despite the fact that we frequently go six months without seeing each other, it’s so easy to pick up exactly where we left off.

We have a fourth, Amy, but she’s currently in Armidale – and she deserves a whole blog post next time I’m in a navel-gazing mood.

I think everyone needs friends like these. Mainly because it’s good to talk to people who’ve known you since you were five – and it’s so interesting to see where we’ve all ended up! We had a great chat lying in the sun, watching the dog get various bits of food stuck in his mouth before burying them…

And of course our maturity peaked at around 4pm when we decided to have a Corinthians throwing contest, to see who could catch the most in their mouth in a row. Pretty sure Bryce won that competition.

Hopefully it won’t be another six months before we see each other, but knowing my schedule at the moment that seems highly likely. In any case, we have known each other for so long that there’s no doubt we’ll just collapse on the ground again and throw some more Corinthians around.
