I spent most of the weekend out and about exploring England, because I figured I have the whole week to look around Cambridge. On Saturday I was lucky enough to join the excursion going from Cambridge to Stratford-upon-Avon, where Shakespeare was born!

We spent a couple of hours wandering around Shakespeare’s house, which is really well preserved and has some original copies of his plays. Then in the afternoon we went to a performance of Othello by the Royal Shakespeare Company which was incredible – definitely the best Shakespeare production I’ve ever seen!
We didn’t get back to College until around 7pm so just in time for the end of dinner, then I was pretty tired so I went back to my room to chill out for the night. I had to be up at around 7am to go to London in the morning.
On Sunday, I jumped on a train from Cambridge to London King’s Cross, where I was meeting Monica to see the Tower of London and do the Harry Potter studio tour! I was pretty excited to see King’s Cross Station for this reason….

After seeing Platform 9 3/4, I headed over to the Tower of London to meet Monica. I have to say at first glance it was a lot smaller than I expected! But the inside was incredible, it’s so old but really well preserved. I think pictures describe it better than words….

After the Tower of London we headed to Oxford St for some lunch and retail therapy, before catching the train out to Watford Junction and the Warner Bros’ Studio Tour! I’d highly recommend doing the studio tour, mainly because it’s interesting to see how they created a lot of the effects in Harry Potter. Also, who hasn’t dreamt of walking through Diagon Alley. Be prepared for some photo spam right here….

And finally…..

So that’s pretty much it for the weekend, now off to another week of classes! Only ten days until I fly home, I can’t believe how fast this trip has gone.
